I got back into road racing as a masters and ride on avg 350 miles/week. I have tried expensive custom made insoles which helped but didn't entirely solve the problem. What really solved it was improving my pedaling motion (more spinning in addition to an insole with good support to distribute the forces better. I purchased a pair of the Pro-carbon because they were light and substantial looking. They turned out to be better than my $200 custom insoles (which didn't really hold up that long). I wear a 43.5-44.5 cycling shoe (depends on the manufacturer) and the size E fit great in one pair with a little trimming and in another as is. That particular skate never fit my arches very well. The Superfeet insole gave some arch support and improved the comfort of the skate. After switching to a pair of Bauer Supreme 180s, I didn't like the feel of the Superfeet insole. The pitch forward didn't feel right in the supreme. These blow them away. I am a big guy +250lbs and am hard on my skates and insoles but since I switched to Superfeet my fatigue and skating performance has improved and with these new CARBON Pro insoles the improvement is dramatic. They take a few skates to get used to but are well worth the minor discomfort/awkwardness.
