I have two to three blades on me everyday, you know a blade for this and a blade for that. BUT the Spike is so nimble and the edge is ever shape it’s the first I grab. I've got 2 other Cold Steel neck knives. A Super Edge & a Hideout that are super handy , so I got the Tanto Spike to checkout. There are pros & cons to this knife . The pros are that it makes a great steak knife . It feels good in your hand , it's balanced , it has a non slip handle if your hands get greasey from eating or bloody from skinning a deer or other critter . Another pro is that it throws good . I know it's not a suitable knife to throw & don't recommend it to others because of the possibility of breaking or chipping the blade . But it is balanced & does throw well. The cons are it's a bit big for a neck knife . If you wear it under your shirt , people ask if your wearing a medical device .
