Hate the throwaway plastic.","text":"This is very effective, but I use it sparingly because I hate throwing the empty cartridges in the trash. We just don't need more plastic waste, and it would seem that these cartridges could be easily refilled. I'd happily pay for bulk refill liquid and whatever refill apparatus if any is required. We didn't have much mosquitoes this summer so we turned it on once on the patio and it never even got past the warm-up because we went inside after 10 minutes. I went to pack up the device and its box with the instructions at the end of the season before winter, and found the refill cartridge completely empty. I contacted customer service to ask if these evaporate they said they do not tend to, and with their being no residue in the bottom of the cartridge I wasn't sure if there was a user error or if the cartridge came empty. The customer service rep gladly is sending a new cartridge. It is still effective, however, in no way does it last as long as they advertise. Recently, it has not lasted half as long. I’m not sure if there has been a change in the solution but it is not what it used to be in duration. The refills are definitely overpriced. In addition, there should be a bottle to refill cartridges with in order to throw away less plastic. Before I could even use it the first time, it turned on while charging and the entire cartridge was spent in my bedroom. I bought a second refill, and the entire thing leaked all over my bag (which contained only sweaters, nothing hard or sharp that could have broken anything, and I kept it in the original box to ensure no damage). I did as recommended and put out for 15 minutes before going out myself. I turned off the machine 45 minutes later. When I went to put a lid on the repeller I noted that the container was only half full! I would maybe get another hour out of the \"12 hour\" repellent. As a senior on a fixed income, no way can I afford $17 and hour to keep mosquitoes away.
