{"reviews":[{"id":7131640,"locale":"en_US","rating":1,"title":"Disappointing Quality After 3 Years","text":"I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with the Thule Tepui 3 Roof Tent after three years of ownership. I’ve only used it five times, and it’s honestly falling apart. This product has been a huge letdown, especially considering the price and reputation Thule has built over the years.\r\n\r\nBuild Quality:\r\nThe sides of the tent are delaminating after minimal use, which is incredibly frustrating. This shouldn't be happening after just three years—let alone after only five trips. The material quality is clearly not up to par, and the fact that it's coming apart like this is a major red flag.\r\n\r\nZippers:\r\nThe zippers are another issue. All of them are failing, and some are already completely unusable. A roof tent is supposed to keep you safe and secure, and a zipper that doesn’t work is an obvious flaw. At this point, I can’t trust it to keep anything secure inside.\r\n\r\nCover Design Flaw:\r\nOne of the most frustrating parts of this tent is the cover. The strap that secures it when you’re driving wears through the fabric of the cover, which results in a hole over time. I had to replace the cover after just a year because of this stupid design flaw. The strap just rubs against the material constantly when you're on the road, and there’s no way to prevent it from happening. It’s a terrible oversight in the design, and Thule has done nothing to address it.\r\n\r\nConclusion:\r\nI expected a lot more from Thule, and I’m extremely disappointed in the Tepui 2. I’ve owned it for only three years, and it’s already falling apart with minimal use. The delamination, failing zippers, and poorly designed cover are all issues that make this tent feel like a poor investment. At this point, I can’t recommend this product to anyone, especially given the cost. The tent takes a little effort to get on the truck bed - not the lightest one out there. But it works well And set up and tear down of the tent is a breeze. We were skeptical of the size for the two of us.. I am a large 50yr old 330lb 6’2” man with two new knees. Yes I am a big guy. My wife and I fit comfortably in the tent! First night was a lil rough for me the sleeping pad was not sufficient for me. We bought a self inflating air mattress that fit perfectly in the tent and that made all the difference for the second night! We are just getting started with overlanding and looking forward to more! However, the rooftop tent came and, upon attempted installation by the same dealer, they found out that my factory installed railings were not compatible with the setup even though that was part of the Fit My Car specifications. I am missing braces on the railings which neither Thule nor the car manufacturer make. I am still waiting to hear back from Thule on if there is a way to install the tent without voiding their warranty or if I have to send it back. Have some zipper issues","text":"This is a solid tent. Held up up perfectly in a desert sand storm and no problems in rainstorm. I live in Oceanside CA and purchased at rackstarz down here… Superior and funto shop operation. Service and installation was 5 star. I like hard mattresses, so I find it incredibly comfortable. I can get it ready for bed under 8 minutes. That’s without opening the windows. Breakdown 15 minutes. Buy a 2 step ladder. Zippers are questionable. My front flap right zipper the stitching let loose. And bottom cover zipper lost a tooth. I can’t zip the cover closed. It’s the only way to explore.. Grand Canyon is coming up. I have it facing opening off my back bumper. Gives u more options to park and set up. Parking spaces on beach.
