I’ve owned mine for almost a year now and it was doing well up until the point where my griddle top made a loud banging sound and warped. I have also had problems with the lid and the grease trap. I called customer service and they will not send a new griddle top because they said warping is normal but “should” go back to normal. They sent me a new lid but no hardware and when I called they said to use the old hardware. Problem is one of the bolts on the lid was striped and it sheared off. Now after two deliveries of replacement lid parts I’m still waiting on the nuts for the lid. My geese trap slides out way too easily. I did a ton of research before purchasing this flat rock last year, debated between it and the Weber, Pit Boss, blackstone etc. \nLive and learn I guess. I will admit I really enjoy cooking on it, but I’ve had way too many issues to justify the price. Started off with the flame indicators working intermittently, hours on the phone with tech support for it to never be resolved. Throwing parts at it and hoping for the best. Never did fix it. \nThey refused to just replace the grill for me, now a year later it’s rusting through the powder coat. Sent pictures of it to tech support, I was advised to clean it after use. How does one clean rust exactly?\nNoticed the rust when I removed the skillet, as I do clean this unit after every use, but who removes the entire skillet after every cook?\nIt’s also never seen rain as I purchased the Treager cover made for it and always keep it covered. \nTech support is close to useless, they tend to send whatever they think it needs to fix, and then it’s starting over with them again next time you call. \nI just got off chat with tech support before I decided to write this review, sent them pictures of the rust coming through as this flat rock is only a year old. They still won’t replaced it. \n Do yourself a favor, don’t be me. Don’t believe the hype about Traeger or their “award winning” service. I have been meaning to call customer service but have not got around to it. Then I was talking to my buddy and his is the same way. Must be a manufacture defect. We bought Trager because we love our smokers and the quality. Hopefully Traeger will do the right thing and fix them for us. I've had it for a little over a year and unfortunately the quality is quite lacking. Yes, the plastic in front of the griddle is cracking. Yes, the paint is cracking. What I didn't see coming was the actual griddle surface flaking off! Certainly don't want to have cast iron chips end up in my cook. So far, so good. Was a pain to put together, but, it’s a solid unit. Lights quickly and easily. Each zone heats quickly and settings are accurate. I’m still learning how to cook on it. I have no culinary skills to speak of, but, I’ve had friends and family ask me to make more smash burgers for them. I have helped my family assemble a couple -----stone grills and I am impressed with the heavier and higher quality of the Flatrock. With the midwest wind we have on our deck, this griddle is fantastic up against a -----stone. I love the control of the 3 zones and how even this griddle cooks. The grease trap is grade A+ compared to -----stone! I like the convenient side handles for removing the griddle top but I have lost some pcs. of food through them. The propane level indicator is something I didn't think much of but it is great. I also love the fold out side tables.
