I'm in the buy once cry once camp but I wanted to give this very cost effective monocular a shot. The lens is very clear and the unit is extremely robust. Like all Vortex products, they really knocked it out of the park with this one. \r\n\r\nOne Con: Don't include a lanyard if it can't support the product. I attached the included lanyard to the monocular and hung it around my neck. It lasted about 100 yards before it shredded at the buckle point and the mono hit the floor hard. Good news is the unit is built like a tank and brushed it off. The reticle is very useful for ranging whitetail (and other game if you have a good sense for how big they are. The focus adjustment knob is easy to adjust, but low profile enough that you are not likely to bump it out of focus. The housing is grippy but not rough or sharp. The neckstrap is surprisingly sturdy for such a thin strap. Belt clip is secure, but will not trap the monocular on whatever you clip it to. \r\n\r\nThe image gets a bit blurry around the 50mil marks. Through one drop or another I’ve developed a small blemish in the image, but it definitely wasn’t there when I received the monocular, so that’s on me. the belt pouch is very soft, but snags on brush very easily.
