I had bought this one as a backup in case my astigmatism affected my ability to see the red dot on another vortex sight. I winded up using this one and I shot amazing with it. I zeroed the optic very fast and my groups were very tight. Now I did shoot great with it, there is no doubt about that. However, there are some annoyances I had with the sight. The lens cap covers kept popping off and weren't secure enough being as I had a big belt with a lot of gear on. I also wish the brightness level on the reticle was a lot higher. I had to make tough shots because I couldn't see the small dot in the very center against a black target. Lastly, I wish the adjustments were recessed so it is harder to accidentally change the zero in case you lose a cap. Had them paired with American defense QD mounts. The design changed and no longer capable of being QD without being ridiculously high. I was fine with that if I could add a magnifier with it but you can’t. It has a knob on top once you zero it out you can change it with one that comes with it. It has 1 through 7 x 100yrds. Great but can’t see good enough at 100 let alone 700. If this is for your rang gun I would go with the hd 3x or 5x. I love the etched lens and the clarity of this. The optic is great, have used for years with no issues. I recently lost a flip cap on a helo hog hunt and couldn't find a replacement. Within 3 minutes of starting a chat, I had a shipment confirmation for my new cap.
