This cause me a lot of foot and hip pain. I love, love, LOVE my Keen Pyrenees hiking boots. I wear a size 8, I bought a size 8, and they fit perfectly. The heel doesn't slip, and I actually have room for two pairs of socks with no toe restrictions. The boot tops opens wide enough for ease of putting them on. I have not used them yet on a really long hike, but I've worn them on a couple of five milers in rocky terrain with lots of altitude changes, and they performed beautifully.
