The clasp lets you really lock in the band fit. I have a narrower rib cage and struggle with finding sports bras that are tight enough at band without being too small in the cups or suffocating (size 34 B-C for reference). This design solves that problem! Cons: the sewn in cups are a bit stiff and that stiffness extends around the front to the part under the armpits. This cut into the tendons just under my armpits just a little, but isn't a dealbreaker for me. Also this bra isn't quite as easy to get on/off as I'd expect for a bra with a clasp. I'm okay with it, but if you have shoulder mobility issues, you might want to proceed with caution.
