These were the closest I could find and pricier than the ones I had before and honestly they didn’t quite match up to expectations. I’ll start with the positives. They look pretty good and that they are relatively comfortable. I wore them for miles the other day and they mostly stood up the test. I do have to apply blister balm before wearing. The first wear caused some damage as the buckle strap has some uneveness to it. This could have been fixed with some better construction. Additionally, the buckle is very challenging to close once the initial strap is through. It has little give once on the foot and is super close and difficult to pull through — especially with the flat shape it has on one end. I had to have some help the first few wears to get it through. This could have also been avoided with creative solutions and testing. Overall, they’re ok and maybe the best in this particular market and price point. My 3 star rating is a bit closer to 3.5 but I wrote this review and I hope to see even better products from Sorel soon. We’ve been walking at least 6 miles a day and I’ve had no blisters and my feet feel fine. They do fairly well on cobblestone, but I’d recommend breaking them in a bit to soften up the strap. The traction is also pretty good, and I’ve only been slightly concerned on smooth old stone stairs when it’s raining. I wouldn’t hike in them, but they are otherwise a great activity shoe.
