They are noticeably heavier and tougher built than my other Uggs. The bottom is also thicker so you have another half inch of wear from the ground. Wont protect from a foot of snow, but good for basic slush, packed snow and ice. I have another pair of gray tasmans and two pairs of the Tazz platforms. I feel like these run shorter than the other ones but that works for me. I'm always in between sizes with Uggs and I can't normally size down like is often recommended. I always go up to a 9. I got these in a 9, too, and they are more snug lengthwise but I think they'll be fine. So if you are a true 9 I would size up. I'm an 8.5 in every other shoe on the planet and if these were any smaller I'd have to return them. \n\nI wanted something waterproof so I don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain. I think these will do quite nicely! And I like the color a lot. I also think they are comfier (because of the sole) than the others.
