While the unit is machined nicely, the functionality is 100% influenced by a plastic screw and how it's tightened to the blade. Instructions say 'hand tighten - do not over tighten'. If loose-ish (can slide down blade with a little wiggle), then edge checker indicates level edges. If tightened so screw is in contact with edge, indicates skates have slightly un-level edges. If screwed to \"hand-tightened\", then edges are even more un-level. I can't trust any reading and get different results depending where on the blade it reads and how it's tightened... it seems silly to spend so much engineering on the device to not have a standardized, idiotproof way to attach it to the blades. I have no idea what to believe about my edge level-ness after using this and will be returning it...
