So far so good
Good pad so far. Seems durable and warm enough for three season use.

good sleeping pad
I have used this product for about a year from Kodiak Island to north of the Yukon in Alaska. It has held up fine. When weight/space allows I always sleep with a thermarest z lite sleeping pad underneath. Only con is a small stuff sack.

Outstanding for basic sleeping needs
Overall great product for everyday camping or hiking needs. I can always grab any of my thermorest products and hit the trail with confidence.

Good Pad, But Possible Questionable Durability
I like this pad, but do not rely on it for anything serious or lasting over a few nights. I used a 2019 ProLite maybe four times before it developed a hole. I know they aren't bullet-proof, but I keep my tent clean and I'm very careful with my sleeping pads because they are expensive, not easy to clean once soiled, and I know they can get punctured. It was not dropped, dragged, or placed on bare ground. It was not stored on the outside of my backpack. Very surprising.

Added to this disappointment is the fact that I've used Thermarest products for over two decades and own five different pads. I've used them on trips ranging from a simple overnight to month long excursions. They have never failed me until a ProLite from 2019, which I mentioned failed after only four uses. Thermarest charged me to ship to them, and charged me to patch it. Maybe it's just a one off, but a $100 pad failing me after four careful uses in mild conditions doesn't inspire confidence, especially when Thermarest would not cover the damage.

This pad is the best...
I have used this pad and another one that was the same model and they are both the best. I like how quiet this pad is compared to others...you don't get the crinkling in your ear when your sleeping that you do with other pads. Another feature that I like is the extra durability a small layer of foam provides...when I stop at the top of a pass for a nap after a hard climb I throw my pad down where others are skepticle that theirs won't get a leak. This pad is an all around great pad....pretty simple.

Rating 3.5 - Reasonably good product with outdated valve.
Long-time owner of the original Therm-A-Rests pads. Have only used this ProLite a few times. 'Self-inflates' to only 1/2"; if you want to get it thicker then be prepare to blow it up and deal with an outdated valve that is not 'one-way' (no check valve). After a few hard breaths it will inflate to 1" which is all I want or need for most outings. Deflates easily and is reasonably compact. Would give it a 4.5 if not for the somewhat awkward valve. I appreciate that the valve design is 'tried & true' but it's past time for Therm-A-Rest to get working on a new design/generation for it's more 'classic' line of pads.

Relatively lightweight, easy to use and carry, works great!
I got to use my ProLite Plus Sleeping Pad (regular size) for the very first time last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and quick it was to inflate to 100%, how comfortable it was, and how it shielded me from the otherwise very cold floor. It's relatively lightweight, folds into its storage pouch nicely, and was very easy to tote around in my bicycle pannier. Outstanding product.

Best mat I had so far
I have used this mattress for the past two years on high alpine self sufficient hiking trips, one to three weeks in a row, that kind of thing, with temperatures as low as a few degrees below freezing point. Pro: lightweight, comfortable, real upgrade from the Prolite. True 4 season model. So far, never had a leak, and never had one in the other Prolite versions I have used over the past 15 years. Con: collects a lat of condensation water, quite hard to dry at low temperatures. This was not the case with the albeit less warm and less comfortable 3 season versions of the Prolite.

Valve continues to fail at altitude (3rd Mattress)
If I didn't consistently encounter this issue I'd swear by this product for the rest of my hiking days. But at altitude, the valve has failed across 3 different mattresses. I've tested to ensure there's no leaks, but the problem has persisted. Also, and this may be a smaller gripe, but getting it back into the sack that they provide is quite difficult if you can't kneel on the pad to push the air out.

10/10 when the valve works, but as anyone who's spent a night sleeping on cold snow without a pad knows, no air, no sleep.

Great, comfortable, noise-free sleeping pad
This is the only fairly lightweight insulated sleeping pad I can sleep on comfortably. I'm a light sleeper and all the other lightweight pads I've tried are too noisy for me (similar to rolling over a bag of chips). This one is noise free! It also feels comfortable and durable - it hasn't failed on me yet after about 40-50 nights. Lastly, the self-inflation mechanism is helpful.

When would I give it 5 stars?
- When it's easier to put the mat back in the stuff sack. Options: bigger stuff sack (with compression straps perhaps)? easier way to deflate to the maximum?
- When the pack size is a bit smaller; it's on the big side.
If Therm-a-Rest would come with a new version with these improvements I would definitively upgrade!
