By incorporating top-of-the-line materials like Vibram with a weight-saving platform, Danner made the tough, versatile work boot feel like the kind of boot you want to put on at the end of a long day. This new last is designed to cup your heel for a secure fit while offering a little more room in the toe box to accommodate feet that are carrying heavy loads. It also comes with a dual-density EVA midsole for extra shock absorption and comfort. The oil- and slip-resistant outsole has a low profile 90-degree heel, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor work. For really tough jobs it has an abrasion-resistant heel cap, an all-leather upper, a non-metallic safety toe and a breathable, moisture-wicking liner for warm weather.

My husband runs heavy equipment year round and will not wear any other boots! He was very happy when his new ones arrived even tho he’s yet to wear them! Said he still has some miles left in his old ones! Lol
The inside and traction definitely remind me of a nice comfortable pair of hiking boots. The outside seems to be very durable so far. Have walked though multiple deep puddles already and the waterproofing seems to hold like it’s designed. Overall so far they are great boots
Boot is very comfortable...but the worst danner boot I have ever owned. I have had less then a year and the leather at the toe is worn through to the composite. Within the first week of wearing them the leather on the toe was torn. Would not reccomend. Not worth the money.
I will tell you...trying to work with cold, uncomfortable feet, that is expensive! This is the first pair of Danner boots I’ve owned. I have worn many different boots over the years but I am here to tell you that I am so lucky to have found them. I live high in the colorado rockies building steel structures. My toes are Very safe under the composition toe, my feet are Always dry from the gortex lining and my feet stay so Warm with the thinsulite insulation. Very comfortable right off of the rack, lightweight so they don’t slow me down. Spend the money, enjoy a great boot.
Boots are excellent at keeping your feet dry I wet conditions and warm in cold weather. Only reason I didn’t give a five star was they didn’t feel quite as comfortable in the toe area as the non insulated pairs I’ve owned in the past. But I know insulated boots can feel a little different. Nonetheless, these boots are completely worth it, I’m on my feet from 12-14 hours a day and my feet stay dry, warm and don’t ever hurt at the end of the day.
Don’t get me wrong fitment/comfort is perfect that’s the only reason it gets two stars. The quality is horrific, I am a utility worker so I am usually tough on boots although one day of actual work the toe is already torn and almost eaten through. Bought these for the insulation/waterproof working outside in the winter. These might be good if you work in a or something similar. But if you work any kind of construction stay away like I said toe is eaten up after one hard day will most likely have to put on toe protectors so they last the winter. Very disappointed to say the least most likely my first/last Danner purchase.
Comfortable and functional and just overall very nice boot. Being a woman, I have a bit of trouble finding boots my feet are a bit small. But these have worked well for me.I ordered the same size as I had in the not insulated version, which I love. These seem tighter, but comfortable, probably just need to be broken in a bit. The only thing I would like is for them to be just a bit tighter at the joint. My foot seems to slip a bit if I don't get them just tight enough. Would order these again for sure.
Great boots, plenty of toe room, wear boots in a 0 degree environment for 8+ hrs a day. Reason for 4 stars the outer leather on the toe is already ripping off and they boots are not warm enough to last all day in a 0 degree environment. Wish I got the crafter 600grain from danner. Been wearing danner boots for 15 years now! Wonderful company with great products. Sometime you buy a pair of boots that suck!
This is my third pair of the Viscious 8". I've worked 30 years in a industry that requires safety toe boots and I've tried many different brands. This model from Danner is the most comfortable, best lasting, and lightest boot that I've ever owned. I receive a boot allowance from my company and have the ability to purchase a new pair before actually wearing out the other, and end up with one pair for work and one for home. I'll continue to buy this boot as long as they're available.
