These boots are great for working in a hot and dry climate. Super light and good airflow to the feet. There is a short break in time, about a week for me, where the heel cup rubbed on the Achilles. I’m going on week 3 and have no issues with the mesh sides or zippers failing....knock on wood. I’m working 4-12’s and 1-4hrs shifts, clocking roughly 45miles walked a week and these boots are holding up nicely. My Acadia were just a little to heavy and didn’t breathe well enough. I do miss the Vibram sole on them though. I love my Danner boots!
Week 3 of using these boots. One of the best shoes I’ve had thus far. I’m on my feet 9-10hrs a day. My feet never get hot or exhausted. Several weeks of the right boot research paid off. Thank you Danner.
Fit is not good for me. Normally wear a 12 D. Ordered these in a 12 EE. Very tight on the outside of both feet. Felt good when I first got them, but when wearing them for a days work became very uncomfortable. Will wear them around the house as I probably can’t return them. They also don’t seem to have a lot of support.
I work in law enforcement and been doing double shifts in the boots. It's hard on my insole and on the side of my foot. I did love the mesh on the boot and the air circulation. I also liked the style of the boot. However it was very uncomfortable. Bottom line is that i would have to try something different....
I have tried 4 different pairs of shoes and had to return all except for my Danners. I am extremely pleased with comfort and glad they had wide fit to accommodate my bunion which most companies don't. These are my new favorites and hope they don't discontinue. They also fit my insoles!
Took about 2 weeks to break in. Mild blistering nothing unbearable (I wear thin compression style socks). Very good support! Only reason for 4 stars is I still have to untie the boot completely to put them on. If I try to keep them tied and use only the side zippers it's a super struggle I can't deal with when trying to get out the door for work.
I am a woman and had been looking for this type of boot but I couldn't find one like these with the side zip. I had to get your men's size 7 and I love them. Good support. Very comfortable and had the double ees for my wider feet which a lot of woman's boots don't have.
I’ve worn a ton of different brand boots over a 17.5 year career. This is the first pair of danners I have bought. Everyone else in my field raves about their comfort and they hassled me enough until I bought a pair. I had my expectations extremely high. They’re several things I was expecting and got and a couple things I was totally expecting and didn’t get. The things I got and love are the Durability is superb. Quality of the side zippers and material over all is excellent. One of the biggest things I wanted them to be is light weight and I got that. I love that they are light weight. Now the cons. Soon as I put them on I was expecting to be putting my foot onto a cloud of cushion. My expectations was set from listening to everyone else in the field talk about how comfy their danners were. In my experience it felt like I put my foot in the boot onto a slab of concrete instead of a cloud of softness. The insole felt extremely hard with very little cushion. The sides of both boots where my big toe sits is rubbing my big toe to the point of discomfort but did subside once I got the boots broke in. The top back of the right boot was digging into my Achilles’ tendon. It’s like the boot was too stiff at first and the height of the boot made it sit on the thinnest part where the Achilles’ tendon runs down my foot. If the boot was an inch taller it would sit on a fattier part of my foot and this problem would be eliminated. I didn’t want a real tall boot though. My main goals were, low profile, comfort and light weight. The Achilles rubbing has subsided with thicker socks and breaking the boot in but this took a couple weeks of wear. So to wrap this up. I love the light weight and quality of material. I hate the insole and its lack of cushion. I can fix this with an aftermarket insole but for the price Of Danner products I didn’t expect to have to do anything to them to achieve the level of comfort I was expecting. Durability, lightweight, zipper quality is 5 stars. The 2 star rating is solely based on the comfort of the boot I experienced.
