These boots were comfortable right out of the box. I hunt from a mobile tree stand set up. I'm able to walk long distances comfortably. These boots are also great for climbing my sticks, and the grip and maneuverability of the boots give me confidence while hunting from a standing position on my "small" tree stand. These are my first Danner boots and am really impressed
I purchased these (Vital) because Danner quit making their High Ground hunting boot. Many of us considered the High Ground the best hunting boot made, but it had a fatal flaw - the cloth lacing eyes failed quickly. The High Ground actually allowed me to walk again after a failed ankle reconstruction 3 years ago. Unfortunately Danner didn't try to address the one flaw in the boot, they just "quit". After trying several other Danner boots I ended up with the Vital because it is made on the same last as the High Ground, so the fit is similar. Unfortunately the Vital is not nearly the boot the High Ground was. It is "floppy". The material, both cloth and leather is thin and not nearly supportive enough. The tongue has no gussets, so it can't tuck around your ankle. It just bunches under the laces in front of your ankle. Not real comfortable, at the least. The sole has virtually no rocker so, at least for me, this boot doesn't walk easily. The leather is plasticized, which apparently means they can use very thin leather which provides no support. Given any other choice, I would not buy this boot. I will look at other manufacturers, but with little hope.
The boots are very light and durable I’ve heard it a couple times and cold weather but I don’t think I have the right socks on so I have purchased some really good cold weather socks. The wind and cold weather under 15 degrees still had my feet cold. I think either the right socks it may be better.
Boot fits perfectly, true to size. Wonderfully made with rugged tread pattern. I bought the mossy oak 400 and I’m glad I did. Light weight for hiking, yet warm enough to take me through the harshest weather conditions. I would highly recommend these boots.
Danners are always a great boot. First time I bought a insulated one for upland hunting which might be a little warm but that’s not the boots fault. Will continue to be a danner customer
I would always hear my coworker rave about these boots, so i bought some on 10/12/18 the night before opening day for deer here in Washington St. I put these boots on straight out the box no break in time at 4:00am and wore them until 7:30pm, i put 11.71 miles on these boots getting after mule deer, and let me tell you every part of my body hurts except my feet. I felt like i was walking on air all day, these boots are worth every penny and danner will be the only boots i wear from now on.
My name is Daniel Drake with Team E Factor outdoors. First and foremost thank you for producing such a great boot in all aspects. I have always wanted a lace up boot and I am so glad I chose these. Looking at them you would think they would be heavy, until you pick them up and you are shocked at how light weight they are. The comfort in this boot goes on and on while keeping your feet dry. Climbing hills and crossing streams have not been an issue at all. With the durability in this boot I am not afraid to take on any type of terrain throughout my hunting season. Again I am very satisfied on this choice of boot.
