He loves the extra protection they provide and the flexibility allowing him to run consistently in his basketball games. Unfortunately, as aggressive as he plays in his games/practices, the fabric covering the padding does not last long at all. Typically he wears through them in about two months and then we are on to purchase another pair for another $50, which adds up throughout the year. I used to get the cheaper hex sleeves for my daughter and she would go through them within 3-4 basketball games. The material on then do not last at all.\n\nI bought these hoping they would last longer. The material does seem thicker, but the stitching around the padded area started to fray after 2 games and 2 washes. For $50 knee pads, these are pretty terribly made and not worth the money at all.
