Upgraded to power handles and on the second time using the reek, the side plate fall off.. The plate did not align to the main body and caused the locking lever to break when attempting to secure it. \r\n Very disappointed. Smooth, strong, and comfortable to jig with all day. I bought it to have fun on the 8-15 lb class YT and YFT. Also use it for working jigs 70m-150m deep. Spooled it up with 25lb Braid (Holds about 400yds) tied to 17lb. Fluoro-- I set the drag right at 20 lbs. (well within this rods wheelhouse) and don't touch it. Perfect live achovy and sardine reel (will cast them well) and 50g-200g slow pitch set up. \r\n\r\nWith this reel you actually do get a return on every cent you paid for it. Well worth the higher price. I've hauled in some serious bull reds with the compact 200. I've noticed an ongoing problem. The side plate would be open/unlocked. For a while I thought maybe I didn't lock them down tight or left unlocked all together. Then it finally hit me. Both models I have the side plate was open when I got home. The location of the lock slide can push open when set in a standard rod holder. It is a great improvement over what I was using before. I had high hopes for this one because I have a Fathom surf reel that I really like, and I wasn't disappointed. Many of the same features have been implemented excellently. It's smooth and powerful and holds plenty of line in a smaller profile than most. The casting is also excellent. I fish with a loose spool and about 1/4 of the magnet strength, and it is very well controlled.
