The reel is quite durable on the outside, but recently mine broke. Upon inspection, after opening the reel, I noted the \"bail arm spring\" is extremely thin and tiny. It had broken in half, leaving the bail to flop back and forth, rendering the reel useless. This was unexpected, and as I trust Daiwa as a brand I shrugged it off. A week or so ago, this same reel, except it was the one I had purchased for my son, failed the same exact way. Open any other kind of reel, even something from Temu in my case, the bail springs are far thicker and sturdier.
