It is horrendously expensive for a stamped plastic shell but it seems they all are. Purchased two shorter 48 inch sleds but then decided they would be two small for our teenage grandchildren. I returned them and got two of these. The young man in customer service said that the smaller sleds might work but that they tended to crack more easily. These sleds are thicker material and of course, longer. They worked well for both adults and teenagers singly or with two persons together. They are harder to get inside an SUV along with six people but we managed with them extending over the top of the third row seat. My granddaughter could still sit in the seat with the sled extending over her head.
