On one the legs simply fold out. The mattress elegantly stows under the legs and Velcro keeps the folded frame closed while transporting. I've slept on this for many nights in our outdoor screen porch. Great support and comfort. Some of my beat nights of sleep. I've taken this on road trips preferring the Costco er other bedding available on my trips. Coleman, you have a winner on your hands but only if you swap the cot cloth used currently. It is simply too thin & of a weave that, if pierced, rips readily. Once torn the whole thing is rendered useless. Simply swap the cot cloth with a ripstop nylon/polycotton canvas & you'll fix the only thing holding this cot back from being among the very best available, perhaps in the world.
