Might not be for certain lifting styles","text":"Got this in December of 2023. Very easy to assemble, albeit time consuming. Fit and finish is great. After using it for 3 months fairly regularly, I figured it was time for a review in hopes it helps others decide. Pros: You can do a lot of different exercises due to the adjustable pullies. Compared to static pully machines Fit and finish is great and it's a solid machine. Some people complain about the height of the bench. At 5'8\", it fits me fine for bench press, etc. Cons: The trolley for the weight plates is not smooth even with a heavy dose of lithium grease on the poles. This affects negative reps thusly: Because of friction, you are actually lifting more than what is on there slightly. And if doing a slow negative rep, you are not using all the weight you have on there. The fly attachment does not fit me at all at 5' 8\". They should have put pivoting arms on it instead of static arms with pads. My 5'5\" wife can't use the fly attachment at all. The adjustable pulleys do not go a full 90 degrees. Where this matters is if want to put a strap in between the pullies for assisted pull-ups, the pullies won't swing far enough in effect binding the cables. Lastly, the bench does decline but not in fine increments like the incline does. You go from flat to all the way down. Which is probably a full 30 to 35 degrees. So if you want to do a slight decline, this isn't the bench for you. There seems to be a little side to side play on the Smith machine where the sides get a little out of sync. This makes it so it not quite a smooth latching the bar because they aren't in alignment. I have owned this machine and been working out with it for 3 weeks now. There are a few minor flaws here and there, but nothing significant. Once again, this machine is great and I would purchase it again, but I do want to point out some of the flaws that I have noticed so that maybe they can be corrected for future purchases. 1. As mentioned in some of the previous reviews, the bench that comes with the SM-4033 is way too tall. The bench needs to be lowered a couple of inches to the ground in order to be able to utilize it properly (but, the bench did come with the machine for free, so I cannot complain too much). 2. The main bar does not rack evenly. You have to sit there and adjust the sides in place prior to being able to lock it. Which can be hard to do with a significant amount of weight on the bar. Basically, the black pieces that go onto the vertical bars have too much \"wiggle room\" and it makes the racking portion a little difficult. 3. The safety stoppers at the bottom of the vertical bars are too high. They do not allow you to do some exercises because the stoppers are too high. For example, you cannot do straight legged deadlift, because the stoppers do not allow you to go low enough if you want to utilize the proper form. This also applies to a few other exercises. - These are just a few minor flaws that I have noticed in the first 3 weeks of operation. I still would hands down, purchase this machine again and recommend it to others. It has everything you need for basic lifts except they do not provide plates. The biggest problem I have with this machine are the cables. They do not slide smoothy especially if you try to use one side (like lateral raises, leg kickback, etc) or if you want to use lighter weight. The cables also get easily twisted. I know you're supposed to put plates on both sides even if using one cable, but it still gets stuck and then unravels in the pulleys. We tried using silicone lubricant recommended by pros on taking care of these types of machines and it didn't do anything. If the cables worked properly like you have at commercial gyms, this machine would be excellent.
