I walk a mile / mile and half to work and like to walk for exercise. I got these because in Colorado where I live some sidewalks will be snowy and then I'll hit an intersection that is totally clean. With my walking trax walking on asphalt damages the metal. Not the case with these. They are great on ice and snowpack. I felt very secure wearing them. But hard as heck to put on! If you have any problems with your hands or, as I do, knees, I don't recommend them. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 and I can see that medium is the correct size--from how the metal stretches over the bottom of my boot. (There would be too much or dangling metal if I had a larger size I think.) Still, it's a real struggle. I finally decided to put them on the boots before putting them on, but even that was hard. I have to use both hands with all my strength. And when I say hard, it takes minutes to get just one on.
