I use them when I go hunting mostly though. For as long as I remember I have been chewed apart by insects, even inside in the winter. The bites frequently swell, ache, and turn into hives. I have tried every product I have encountered. Once I have a bite I've had some success with meat tenderize and benadryl. But, I had ever found anything to actually prevent the bites, until I found Thermacell. It actually works. It has cut the number of bites I get to almost zero. The only ones I get now are when I'm not using it. The mats use to last 4 hours as advertised. I would go through butane cartridges quicker than I had to replace the mats, now it’s the other way around. The mats are turning white after only an hour to an hour and a half. I’m not sure what has changed with this product but it’s getting super expensive having to constantly purchase more replacement mats.
