After a run I left my gloves on the roof of my car and proceeded to drive off when they promptly blew off into the roadway. A light snowstorm and countless cars then ran over my gloves. I found them later that evening in the street and washed them and they were good to go for my next run. Finally, I have found gloves that can keep my hands fine on cold winter days. I have used them when it was \u003c 0F and they have worked for me. In the 20s, my hands are \"too warm\" with these. In the 10s they are warm enough, and below 10 F, my hands do not freeze and stay ok. I feel like I've tried every conceivable option for hand wear, and these are now by go-to for temperatures down to about 15 degrees, maybe a bit lower. As noted in another review, everybody is different in that regard, and I might be an outlier, but for me they work nicely even in very cold temperatures. I find these to be surprisingly warm for such a lightweight fabric. For what it's worth, I usually have my index finger in the same part of the glove as the other three. It gets cold otherwise. (If Brooks offered this exact same product in an ordinary mitten, I would definitely buy that instead.) Also, my thumb gets a bit cold. As much as I like these, they could be improved by having thicker fabric or an additional layer for the thumb and possibly the index finger. Any finger that is separated from the others is going to be colder. I'm 73 years old, run 5 miles and walk 1 every morning before sunrise (when it's cold), and have naturally cold hands. With the Brooks Shield Lobster Glove 2.0, at 43 degrees, it took 3 miles for my hands to start warming up. But my thumbs never did get warm. While walking mile 6, my hands got cold again. For me, these gloves would probably be ideal for temps in the 50's. The TrailHeads Convertible Zip mittens are definitely much warmer for me, keeping me warm even down to the high 20's. I wear a Large glove, but as for the cuffs, they are so tight, I can hardly get them over my wrists even with bare hands. Wearing my Brooks Notch Thermal Long Sleeve 2.0 top, it was extremely difficult to get the gloves on and off. When the weather gets into the 30's I also wear my Brooks Activate Midweight Hoodie, so these gloves would be close to impossible for me to get on and off with two layers of clothing on my wrists. I would suggest doing away with the wrist elastic and putting on a Velcro strap. To be fair, I have five pairs of different styles of running gloves and the wrists are all too small for my hands. (I think this might be a result of foreign manufacture. I have U.S. made gloves I use for other purposes and they fit my wrists just fine.) The right hand glove has a small, but very bright Brooks retro reflective icon on the back for night running safety. Why no similar safety icon on the left glove? The icon can actually be much larger to be more useful. The quality of the Shield Lobster Glove 2.0 seems to be very good. I gave only three stars because it is advertised as \"our warmest option,\" but for me, I would rate it as only providing light to medium warmth.
