These have been extremely versatile and have held up very well. Leather is in excellent shape, no liner tears, and soles are intact. I do wear these daily, but only for four months out of the year, so daily use would be the equivalent to about two years even though they are roughly six years old. I use them for backcountry, brush/tree work, camping, and puddle jumping with the 4x4. They see pretty much every type of terrain from sand, volcanic rock, to snow, and everything in between. I even use them with spikes and crampons, and they've never left me with a soggy foot. When the season ends, they're cleaned and oiled before I put them away for the next year. The only things I see I've done different from other's reviews that have experienced the heel liner blowing out are, I pulled the inner soles immediately and replaced them with a quality work level gel sole, and I bought them a half size smaller than my regular shoes. Leather stretches, and after breaking these in they fit perfectly, always snug without feeling like my toes were jammed up at the end. Oh, and for what they are they're pretty light. I could jog in these and it not feel like I was wearing cinderblocks. I don't foresee much break in time and have only worn in the house. But on the first lace of of the boot, the lace threader on the tongue broke. Not a major issue but should not happen. I am wary to buy any other boot because these fit my feet so well. They are the comfiest boots I've worn. I do trail work and these are my boots of choice every season. The only problem is that after 1-2 seasons the stitching at the heel comes out and the lining gets ripped, basically creating a huge hole at the heel. I haven't attempted to take them to a cobbler to see if they're salvageable.
