Excellent water, resistance and traction on all surfaces. They are wider in the toe box than other Salomon I’ve tried. Thundercross orked well for me very comfortable shoe that did not develop hotspots. Worried that they might be too hot, but that wasn’t an issue for me. Looking to grab a non-Gortex pair for dry conditions as it drops a few grams of weight. The shoe is not heavy even in the Gortex and I like it better than the Hoka Mafate 4 and the Merrill Agility Peak 5 for stability and toebox comfort. I am coming to these from the speedcross 6. I also use the V9. The cushioning is excellent and they feel very light, even in the goretex. Only have 3-4 runs so far into them. So far no major wear or complaints. Now the last 4 pairs I've gotten fall apart within 3-6 months. \r\n Worse yet, they now ship you shoes that are defective upon arrival before even being worn. Glue leaking out between the upper and the sole on both shoes in numerous places. \r\n Salomon support and ceo both don't care about their product anymore. They just rely on their old reputation of being a good company and take your money while telling you to get lost. \r\n I will never get a pair of Salomon shoes ever again. I don't even want to go through the hassel of returning these shoes since I know they will just send me another defective pair. The laces slide through their eyelets only with great reluctance, the tongue bunches up and then wanders off to the side on long runs, and the toe box is seemingly cut with excess fabric and looks a bit dorky. I was hoping for upper construction on a par with the Speedcrosses, but the Thundercrosses were a big disappointment.
