Versatile. I no longer fear cold or winter. Looks amazing!!!","text":"This jacket has transformed my experience of winter. It is extremely warm, sleek, comfortable and has all of the details right. I even get disappointed when it's too warm to wear it. Then I wear my Cotopaxi Fuego jacket when it's not quite as cold, but I basically always wish I could wear this Parka coat. The green color is beautiful. I just don't think that I could imagine a better design. All of the details add up to a quality that surpasses any other jacket I have ever tried on. I truly feel like superwoman and have stopped fearing winter. I know I'll always look and feel amazing in this coat. I did my due-diligence and researched several options and read dozens of online reviews (not going to lie — I have more weight to those reviewers from Minnesota and Canada or those from that mentioned polar vortex 😂) before making a decision on which to keep. Of these, I found the Calidez Down Parka to be my ABSOLUTE favorite. It is a well-made parka that hits mid-length (not too long and not too short), it is warm and of substantial weight and material but not too heavy. It is roomy enough that allows for layers underneath BUT is still cut/tailored nicely where so it’s not overwhelming and leaves you looking frumpy. There are two good-sized inside pockets, zippered outside pockets, a removable and adjustable hood, zippers and snaps to keep the jacket windproof. It runs slightly large, I usually order a L in parkas because I hate being wrapped in tightly, and the M in this one fits like a dream. The sleeve elastic is great for keeping cold air out of arms, soft neck is good for not rubbing up against the chin. Pockets have nice flannel inside for keeping my hands warm and they are roomy!!! The inner pockets are a game changer for not having to carry around a purse, and the zipped inner pocket is great for keeping phone and wallet items secure. The fact that you can take off the hood is amazing. Super warm — my normal configuration is a variation of sports bra, wool base layer, t shirt, hoodie, then jacket. I still have some room leftover which is great if any of my layers need to be thicker. The jacket does run on the larger side but I’m pretty consistently a Small in Cotopaxi over the years. If I just wanted to wear this with a thin t shirt, I’d go for the XS. I’m 5’-7”, athletic hourglass build with wide hips and a long torso. Normally a 6 or 27/28 in pants and a 6 or S/M in tops. I’m a size 0 or 2 in Everlane tops. Lots of pockets, all deep and wide, and structurally robust. Woods is a lovely deep green color, the black chest logo kind of disappears into it. Length passes butt and hits just above mid thigh. I haven’t tried it in the rain yet but it’s got similar, if not better, specs to a jacket I wore in rain-all-the-time Ireland that held up beautifully in a torrential downpour or drizzle, so I imagine it’ll be fine. Also great — PFAS free, so the rain won’t be taking little bits of toxicity with it when I wear it. A couple things I’d want in a future iteration — pit zips because I’m definitely going to sweat in this, thumb loops at the inner sleeve layer, a softer fabric at the chin when it’s zipped up all the way (but the existing situation isn’t bad, just could be better), and a hood that cinches in completely.
