I knew this because I took the moment to do a little research on the product being offered! Worn constantly/daily during my annual month long trip to Northern California/Mt Shasta where I averaged between 6-12 miles a day hiking in all sorts of conditions. Wet, dry, scrambling, yet mostly pounding the trails and I had no issues…. It might also be important to note I'm \"knee compromised\" and have been for over 30 yrs. NO PAIN. NO DISCOMFORT! I generally need brace support but not with these shoes! These kicks rock! Fit well with my hiking socks and liners! No blisters or foot dmg at all! These checked all the boxes on what I was looking for. They arrived very quickly and appeared to be of superior quality. However, when I tried them on, I could not even get my foot inside - they were way to NARROW. (I normally were a 10.5 WIDE (2E-4E) depending on the brand, so I was hopeful) Sadly, I had to return them. The description of \"plush\" is not accurate at all, they feel hard. I don't know if Hoka has shifted countries of origin, but this doesn't even feel like a Hoka. Great ride","text":"I love Hoka. I have had the Kaha Low 1, 2, and now 3. Plus the Kaha 2 Mid (plus many Stinsons, the Infiniti, Recovery Glide, Bondi SR, Bondi, etc). \n\nThis shoe is poorly designed. The toe box is too narrow and the upper too loose so your foot slides into the narrow toe box on a decline or even descending steps. I wear a 13 in the boots and sandals, 14 in the running shoes. I got the Kaha 3 in 13 which fit perfectly in the 1 and 2 (low and mid). Because of the loose upper, I didn't try sizing up. Instead, I got two pairs of thick tongue pads, putting one near the top of the tongue and the other below it. Plus, I skipped the third eyelet and used the lace lock in tying the shoe. This approach keeps my feet far enough back in the shoe on the declines and stairs. \n\nWith tiny remediation in place, the shoe not only fit better but the ride improved. It's super plus but still sure and firm. \n\nIt's a lot of effort to compensate for a design flaws, but it makes the shoe work. I hope they release the Kaha 4 (or 3A, even) very soon to fix the flaws. \n\nOne improvement over prior designs is that the heel collar seems more durable. Older models wore out at the padding at the back of the foot, just above the heel.
