Not only do they have a flashy dose of nostalgia (which I'm all about) but they are lightweight and comfortable. The grip is great and the material seems very durable and are true to size. As far as the aesthetic goes, the bright colors pops (mine are the fruit punch reddish-pink) and having the Kool-Aid man busting through the front of the tongue with the words oh yeah on the back of the tongue is fantastic. There are also interesting little clear texture marks around the heel giving it almost a wet splash look. From the little water drops, to the \"cracked\" lines to the Kool-Aid Man on the tongue, the design choices were noticeable and drew you into the shoe. \n\nWhen trying on the shoe for the first time, just like any other basketball shoe, it was snug, especially around the side of the toe box. My initial reaction to this was that I would need to break in these shoes in 1 or 2 basketball sessions for it to feel more comfortable but I was surprised that they broke in pretty easily after about a 30 minute session. The heel and fitting around the ankle was good but I need to see how secure it will be after a few more uses. While the design of the water drops is nice, I am a bit concerned over the lifetime of the shoe how they will hold up after more wears. \n\nThe shoe itself has excellent grip especially on gym floors. It has good stability around the ankle/heel and gives a nice reaction with lateral movements. It felt a little heavy compared to other basketball low tops that I own, but it leads more to the stability of your foot within the shoe. Despite that, I did have a lot of explosiveness when I jumped and the padding provided was comfortable during my first few basketball sessions. They are very light, very comfortable (rather immediately, surprisingly), and super breathable. My ankles and heels feel supported enough in these shoes, which is really important to me when I'm playing basketball. They also allow me to make dynamic and even explosive movements while playing (ie, the shoes feel very responsive to my foot movements and keep me stable through these movements). They are fantastic on both street and indoor court surfaces. I've also thoroughly enjoyed wearing them out and about as my \"daily shoe\" on occasion - they're just too fabulous to not want to wear more and show off! \n\nI would say that my only little note is to get 0.5 - 1.0 size larger than you normally do, as they do seem to run a tad small (I got half a size up and was happy and had no issue \"breaking them in\"). \n\nOverall, these are literally my favorite basketball shoes ever and some of the best shoes I've had period. HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and everyone that is looking for (a) fabulous basketball shoes that look absolutely spectacular and that transition well to being off the court and/or (b) amazing shoes period.
