My work commute is roughly 16 miles round trip in bike lanes, sidewalks and neighborhood roads. It is a good workout, but I probably should have gotten a lighter road bike for my commute (this was all that was available to get during the pandemic). No real issues with the bike so far (almost at 2500 miles for its lifetime so far). I mostly lose tires due to debris in the bike lanes and i need to clean the chain to stop the slipping of the gears but i am lazy. Gears are pretty good, brakes are good also. A little rattle-y for a bike that isn't very light but it is a $600 bike so you get what you pay for. This is the perfect cheapskate bike. Dependable, gets you from point A to point B without much flair but people like the red color so there's that. Took my quite a while to get used to the disc brakes but now that i know how to adjust them at the wheel (very handy) i have loosened the front brake and tightened the back brake and now i don't flip over the handlebars. Butt and hands go numb after about 10 miles but i don't think this is supposed to be the duration of rides for this bike. If you are cheap like me you will ride this into the ground and get every penny's woth out of this bike. My times improved by around 30%. \n\nThe bike is comfortable after I changed the seat and I have not any issues. So far, I have probably ridden around 100 miles. So, it hasn't been that long.
