I was looking for a knife that will stand up to the work that I put them thru. I’ve tried the best made and was never satisfied until I found Benchmade. This particular knife, the Grizzly Creek was purchased for me by my wife for Fathers Day 2025. That alone gives this knife some serious meaning to me. But my incredible wife took it a step further and had it customized with a cross. Jesus is the most important thing in my life and to have the symbol of my salvation on the knife I’ll be using while harvesting his creation to feed my family is next level for me. Big thanks to the woman that makes me a better man and to Benchmade for making American made, superior quality tools for my active lifestyle. The knife is gorgeous and its functionality is as smooth as silk. It looked great, felt solid in hand, and the factory edge was decent—nothing to write home about, but serviceable. Unfortunately, that first impression didn’t last long.\n\nWithin just two weeks of light use, the handle began to splinter and de-laminate. Not what you'd expect from a $300 knife. I contacted Benchmade hoping for a quick fix, but was told they couldn’t simply send replacement handles—I’d need to ship the entire knife back. The estimated turnaround? Three weeks. That’s a long time to be without a tool you paid a premium for.\n\nOn top of that, the gut hook has an annoying rattle when closed, a problem I later discovered is common with this model. At this price point, quality issues like these are unacceptable.\n\nThere are better-built knives out there for far less. Between the premature wear and the slow, inconvenient warranty process, this will likely be my last Benchmade in this price range.
