Wind on my back, i still hunt, not been busted since i started using the Zero Trace unit. I have recommended this item to a few folks myself and they use it and swear by it. Deer simple don't smell you. Had mature does within 10 yards of my blind, wind blowing through the blind out towards them multiple times and they're not picking up my scent. It's still amazing to me that it works this great. I'M completely sure it works. Since I have been using it I have yet to have a deer completely bust me in any wind direction. At times they know I'm near but due to the PureION seem to think I'M much farther away from them. I stay as scent free as I can. I hunt in the suburbs and have no way to play the wind. Deer can come in on me from any direction. Zero Trace PureION allows me to hunt where I otherwise could not . I know what it was like before I used Zero Trace. Conditions were tough. All stand locations had bad swirly winds that would’ve made it tough for anyone to see a single deer without getting blown out! Luckily for me I had my Zerotrace and man did this baby do her job. I wasn’t able to get my target buck in range because he was chasing tail but I did manage to draw his attention to about 80 yards downwind until his girl came out! But even better I had little bucks all around me, one even making a rub 15 yards from my location! Now mind you I’m a 300 pound guy that when fully packed any walk would increase my scent through sweat tremendously! Hung my zero trace and had it running on boost before daylight and I 100 percent can attest this product works! Not saying you shouldn’t properly treat your clothes and gear still! Fan may seem loud but it does not affect your hunt! But sometimes circumstances just don’t allow it. A friend of mine informed me of zero trace a few months ago and he was sold on its effectiveness. Decided it couldn’t hurt so I picked one up. \n\nI hunt in Northern Minnesota where deer are scarce and wolves are plentiful. Deer are on high alert all the time so I am always looking for an edge.\n\nOn opener reached my stand early and set up the zero trace unit on the tree over my head. The attachments were easy to use and worked well. I turned the unit on to low setting and waited. Light winds were expected to be out of the south and switching SW by mid morning. Before the wind direction changed an 8 pt buck emerged into an opening about 80 yds away looking directly at me. He turned and walked directly at my stand. Long story short was it took 5 minutes for me to get into a shooting position. During that time the buck came as close as 15 yds and walked directly thru my scent path. I was finally able to get into a shooting position and dispatched the buck at +\\- 100 yds upwind of my stand. That was the only deer we saw for the remaining 5 days of our hunt. \n\nTemps were in the low teens to low 20’s during the 4 hours before filling my tag and the battery still had a good charge left when I turned it off. The fan makes minimal noise but yo do hear it. \n\nCan I definitely say it resulted in my success? I believe so. This buck had identified me as something out of place while out of my scent path. He continually watched me with brief feedings on grass greens. I or she has yet to try it because season's over. From the reviews and people using it, I think it will help. I still play the wind. it's just to help the situation in the Big woods. So that's why I only give it a four star and out of five. It's heavier than I thought. I think the fan noise won't be noticeable inside of a blind. It is not that noisy. I have hunted deer for 48 years and it is a constant low hum.
