I assume the designers believe that we will be wading in waist deep water, but that isn’t the case for me, unless I trip. 😳 Also, for what ever reason, with a loaded vest, my shoulders and neck were fatigued by the end of the day. In contrast my previous vest had no issues with the same load. It seems like simms is now no longer producing the G3 vest. I always liked the molded pockets and it’s durability \nThis now is just another fly vest at a higher price than it should be. The zippers get stuck on the fabric inside the pockets making them difficult to open. The pockets on the back used to have one larger compartment for a rain poncho or lunch. And then there was 2 smaller pockets higher up on the back. I would keep spare spools there. That is now just one instead of 2 compartments. The Velcro pockets just feel cheeper. Perhaps its the new water resistant fabric. I honestly don’t know\n\nThis really saddens me. I’ve probably spent over 20k on simms products over the years for myself, family and friends. I’ve noticed they have a great variety of flip flops but seem to have lost there way in what the company was number 1 at for so many years. I would like to wish Simms good luck with there Grateful Dead marketing idea. Lol. \n\nAs I’ve noticed over my 40 years of only wearing Simms gear every time they upgrade/update something. , usually something is removed. That said I hope and pray they keep producing bomb proof waders.
