I have a Belgian Malinois, a very active and smart dog. These remotes and collars helped me train her to a point I rarely need to use the collar. However, recently, a remote I had started to malfunction, so I called customer support, and they were very friendly, and quickly resolved my problem. One died several times, replaced batteries to no avail, stopped charging all together. Other one sometimes does and other times does not charge. We have tried different chargers and changed batteries on both but nothing fixes the problem. I have been waiting to write a review for a while now to see if it will last. More on that later. It was an amazing transformation for my Irish Setter that was a year old and who could get out of earshot too quickly. I love that feature but here is the issue that I am the most annoyed at: The charging cord is proprietary. I go from the house, the car, the motorhome, to friends house and I am always searching for the last place I left it. I cannot use any other charger. Now maybe you all are saying that I need to put it back in the same spot every time. Ideally yes, but circumstances rarely allow it and I am not the only one in the household that touches the charger. One big improvement would be a standard connector for charging. That is one. The other thing is that the current unit that I have is the second one that I have used. The first one had issues at the get go. Not charging for very long. Very frustrating to run out of charge when the dog is a half mile away, and dangerous too. So the company sent me a new battery and that fixed it. However, the unit started acting up again and would not respond to the controller. I tried everything and called customer service because it was still under warranty. They were really nice. They sent me another controller but it still did not work. They ultimately sent me a whole new unit, controller and receiver. I went to register it to get my 2 year warranty but they said that I could only get the remainder of the warranty for the original unit. How absurd. If I bought a computer and had to send it back because it did not function and received a replacement, the warranty would be for the new computer and I would receive the full warranty coverage for the new machine. Here I am nearly 2 years later and it did not matter because the unit is working fine and I have had no issues whatsoever (except for not locating the charging cord occasionally). I often rely on others to provide reviews and so I am doing my part to help others and the company. I bought this collar after some research and at the recommendation of some hunters who had great success training their 2 hunting dogs with it, and the price was also great.
