I'm a 16 for everything I wear but I measured myself just to make sure. I fit the guidelines for 16. I ordered a different pair of pants in a 2xl, so I was worried the 16 would be too small. It's actually huge on me. I would say it fits more like an 18 or 20. The other pants that were a 2xl fit. It seems ridiculous to fix in a 2xl but not a 16. Typically, pants are too tight in the thighs and butt and too big in the waist. I decided to give the DSG Field Pants a try after having a great experience with other DSG products. \n\nI purchased these pants in Black, Tan, and Camo to use for work as well as fishing, hiking, and hunting. So far, these pants have been great. The fabric is breathable and easy to move in and the fit is very flattering. They actually make my butt look amazing! I'm typically a pant size 8-10 and went with a 10. I would say these fit a bit on the smaller side so if you're looking for a looser fit or are between sizes I would go up a size or two, especially if you want to wear base layers during the winter. I would also say they are a bit long so if you're 5'2'' or under I would get them tailored. These have a midrise waist to them so they don't sit too high or too low. The pant legs do have a bootcut to them that works great over hiking/hunting/work boots. The fabric on these pants are pretty quiet as well, I didn't experience that snow pant sound while I walked which is very important to me. \n\nThe only \"cons\" I experienced with these pants would be the back pockets as they have a velcro closure that I found a bit irritating. Opening my pockets was kind of loud but I appreciated that they were big and felt lined so they warmed up my hands on cool mornings. I also didn't love the look of the pockets on the legs, they have some pleating that makes them bubble out ever so slightly but that's just my preference on pocket styles. \n\nOverall I would highly recommend these pants for outdoor work or play.
