They have the benefits of simple to use and secure the arrow from falling out of or off the rest. However there are trade offs to consider. Anything that touches your arrow after releasing it will affect accuracy and speed of the arrow. Whisker biscuits do both for the duration of the shot until the arrow is clear passed the arrow rest. I have observed numerous shooters scores in my 20 yd indoor archery league improve their scores from 265 ish to 285-290 out of 300 which translates to being able to make ethical shots at least twice as far which increases a hunters shot opportunity on their quarry substantially by switching from a whisker biscuit to a drop away rest such as the QAD Hunter which is in a similar price range often only costing about $10 more than a whisker biscuit.
