The rod snapped like a twig when I was putting a lure on the holder. I replaced it under warranty, and the second one broke while gently untangling some braid from the tip. These should be recycled or repurposed. Paired mine with a Vanford 3k w/15# braid. This was my striped bass schoolie rod , cocktail blues, and more importantly my albie rod. It certainly had the backbone when the albies were ripping line. The tip was a bit on the light side for my use, which eventually broke. But the rod seemed even better. I have a bunch of the avid inshore and very pleased with them. But, they were out of stock and I went with the mojo (big mistake) I paired the rod with a slammer dx 4 7500 and 50lb braid. Headed directly to water and drifted crabs back in the pass. First fish my dad hooked snapped the rod at the reel seat sending the new rod and reel into the water still hooked to the tarpon. St croix going to cover the whole setup?
