I'd estimate it started doing this at around the 200 round mark. It's taken no abuse and has not been used roughly. I verified this by adjusting brightness setting, replacing the battery, and ensuring the battery cover was tight but still had the dot shut off while shooting on a flat range. The build quality is good. The optical clarity is worse than the Romeo 5 and Romeo 7s. It has a more noticeable blue hue. Very noticeable distortion almost fisheye like. Under NV the angle of the rear body with the coating used reflects back in light into the NV unit making it blurry around the dot. It really should have had grooves cut into it and a matte coating used to stop the reflection. Overall I feel the Romeo 5 is still a better choice at this price point.
