Rivers Edge Lockdown 21' 2-Man Ladder Stand

Platform is 18’ from the ground because let’s be honest no one cares how high the shooting rail is. The stand is well made. Very rigid. The fold away footrest is a fantastic design. The extendable shooting rail is a great feature. The way the ladder sections are secured together seems to be a fix to a problem we have all had. Creaky ladders going up and down. I think they may have solved that issue. The rubber coating on the shooting rail arm rests and foot rest is thick and greatly appreciated. The paint seems to be much thicker than what I’m use to on ladder stands. Almost to the point that I thought it could be powder coated. The seat is extremely comfortable as well. This stand is great and I don’t hand that compliment out lightly. I do have one big ask. It would be fantastic to have the top tree blade adjustable in some way in case you are on a tree that’s not perfectly straight and it’s a few inches from touching wood. I have only two issues. One is a design issue. That is the tree brace. It would be nice to be able to utilize at least a little bit more of the extension when it’s functioning as a brace. I’m very particular about the tree I put my stands in. Opting for trees that are forked or have multiple trunks. Just tends to hide everything a bit better. With that being said the trunk I place my stand in may be at an angle and in need of a slightly longer brace. Just a couple more holes would be nice to give that extra adjustment. Now my big complaint. In assembly step 3 when attaching the “seat support” which is part number 19 it was not welded properly. The long bar in the back that faces the tree was rotated 90 degrees so that all the holes were facing the wrong way. I triple checked to make sure I was just not doing things wrong. I was not. I was able to drill new holes (yes I know it’s going to void my warranty) to make everything work as intended. If someone had been at deer camp without a drill and drill bits they would have been screwed. (Pun intended). That is the end of my gripes. Would have absolutely given it 5 stars if not for the welding issue. I am a 63 year old man and I put this stand up by myself with a log chain wrapped around the tree at 15\" and another log chain around the ladder at 15\" and a 4 to 1 pulley system, ladder stand, ground spikes and a rope tied to the bottom rung to another tree to make sure the bottom couldn't move. Takes a while to assemble but, instructions are good. Setting stand against tree was done by two of us but a third would have been rather helpful.
