Would give 6 stars if I could.\n\nCushion and comfort right out of the box was evident. The fit was great - heel locked in place and there was plenty of room in the forefoot without being sloppy. It was very stable over rocky terrain and had excellent grip during technical scree field crossings. The carbon plate proved valuable during these rocky sections for the underfoot protection. The gator channel on the outsole is another nice touch that also provides a little extra heel brake. A small detail that I really appreciated - high quality laces. They are static (don't stretch) and stayed securely tied with the desired tightness during long days on the trail. \n\nIt's been a while since a pair of hiking shoes has really \"wow'd\" me, but these really blew me away. \n\nWould recommend going 1/2 size up.
