Way better than my Penn squalls and Penn fathoms. Its super smooth and has been dropped countless times and still works like brand new. Once you dial it in it casts a mile. It casts farther than any levelwind reel I've owned. I've been doing surf fishing with this reel for sharks and Redfish and it handled a 6 foot blacktip with ease. The last three I bought have been terrible all make a clicking noise when casting like the bait clicker is half on thought I was buying reels that last for years like the first reels I bought some 10yrs ago. Quality has gone down as demand has grown. This was my go to reel for cat fishing as I regularly catch 40+ Blues I am so sad that these reels have went this far down hill it’s unbelievable. I think that I will be exploring other brands this is a sad day.
