Of course, they handle an icy parking lot, but more importantly the spikes are long enough to provide grip on uneven surfaces. I’ve used them hunting after awful freezing rain and felt very secure. The four stars: My first pair broke when the rubber strap split and the heel tab has finger holes, but they are too small and fit tight against the shoe, making them hard to grip.
