I've worn a pair of these for three years, hunting Elk and Deer in Colorado across multiple seasons, in heat, brush, dewy grass, rain, and snow. If I got wet, it was because my boots leaked, not the gaiters. I wear a size 12 boot, and it's a bit of stretch, but the gaiters fit. Mine are a more reddish shade than my other Mountain Shadow gear, but I'm not trying to impress anyone and the animals didn't notice. It is difficult to find quiet, waterproof gaiters designed for hunting, and they usually cost a small fortune. These were a great investment!
The gaiters are great for keeping your pant legs from snagging on what you're walking through and your boot laces from getting clogged up by the same stuff. If it had a hook to connect to the laces instead of that crappy snap system I would give them 5 stars.
Never used gaiters before, bought these on a lark and went to Idaho. Dumped a foot and a half of snow on us so ended up walking around all week in thigh high snow. These did really well, never let any snow into my boots or pants and kept me dry. Easy to put on and take off, only thing I didn't like was the snaps that hook into laces of the boots to keep them from riding up. Kind of a pain to take on and off when you have cold hands. Other then that great gear and worked like I wanted it to.
Used these guys all last year through out our elk hunt in Southern CO. We were in snow up to our hips and mud up to our knees but my feet and legs stayed dry and warm the whole time. My son uses them while chasing antelope to help him during his stalks and while walking through sage. I also use them to stay warm while hunting white-tail out in west TX out of a blind and they work pretty darn good! My son and I will not walk out to hunt without them.
I bought these for an early November Deer hunt. Had about 6-12 inches of snow around 8000 ft. They were great for keeping pants dry. Used for 5 days and the velcro stiching is falling apart already. They are a bit tight
Just got back from a week in Alaska chasing caribou in 28-36 degree weather with rain and snow the entire week. I used the xkg line and these gators. While the xkg line was awesome these gators leave a lot to be desired. The velcro is poor quality and is not stitched on well. All three of us in the party had these gators and they let more water in than we had hoped and did not hold up. Make sure you do not pass up the XKG line but pass on these gators.
I bought a pair of these gators.. 10 minutes in the zippers pulled apart at the bottom... The Velcro is strong so it was the saving grace.. The pattern, material, and design is great.. But the zippers leave a lot to be desired..
I saw a Review that stated they were to small to fit his size 12 boots. Well I to have size 12 boots. But I have a ton of Kings Camo and like it so I thought I would try it. However I cannot even get close to getting them zipped up on my Kenetrek boots. Also the strap that goes under the boot looks like it would not hold up. However I don't know that for sure as I cant them on.
Product does a fair job of what it was designed to do. Quite material and water/weatherproof. Top cinch strap could be made to go smaller/tighter. Bottom lace lock tabs could use a hook instead of button snap(hard to get under laces when boots are tied tight)Product does what it is supposed to do but could use some refinement.
Can't say enough about the pattern. A little concerned over the material used as the stirrups, for lack of a better term. Easy enough to replace them if chewed on idaho lava rock. No hesitation in recommending them to anyone who wants to, shall we say, shake dew off.
It is very difficult to find this type gaiter and difficult to get this quality. I purchased these for my wife and the light weight and ease of getting them on and off is great. We have not used them in wet weather but feel they will keep her dry. The customer service we received from King's Camo was the best I have received in a long time. Thanks.
I bought these as a gift. Initially I received the wrong item but they got the correct ones out right away and were so great to work with. My father in law loves them and says they are high quality products! I will order from Kings time and again!
I've been looking for a good quality set of gaiters, that will keep you dry but not make a ton of noise in the brush. These seem like they'll fit the bill and they're in the great Kings Camo pattern. Due to a lack of snow I really haven't got to really put them to the test yet but I will.
I am very satisfied purchasing my kings gaiters. It was very hard to find a camo pattern that would work for me until I looked at King's. The Gaiters are very well built and kept me dry while spending all day in the snow.
