Retain™ heat retention technology
LOCKS HEAT IN.
ArcticShield Retain™ varies the heat level to give you warmth where you need it most, while still allowing you room to move - because it provides less bulk. A warm hunter is quieter, mentally focused, on the hunt longer, and more likely to be successful. Independent laboratory tests have confirmed that ArcticShield Retain™ captures greater than 90% of body heat, and maintains the 90% heat for a longer period of time than other products on the market. ArcticShield Retain™ is strategically located throughout the garment keeping you warm and comfortable no matter what level of activity or temperature range you will be hunting in.
It works well. Wear a few layers so you aren't cold while walking out. Step in, zip up. When the deer show up, unzip and aim. The built in suspenders keep your suit up. I stayed very warm during my multiple trips into the woods, even in the single digits.
I’m giving it a 4 because I haven’t had a chance to use it in really cold weather yet! I got the suit for a mid December archery hunt in MN but the weather ended up being in the mid to upper 20s for temps not to cold, one morning was around 16deg F so I put the suit on in the morning had it on till about lunch, it worked great! It felt like I was sitting in my house very warm and cozy! I would recommend it to any body so far!
I have owned the heater body suit, I have used the Iwom bag, and now I own the Artic Sheild Classic Elite Body Suit. The Artic Sheild is by far the best and well thought out. It has the best of all the heater suits. It is very impressive.
Used it once so far in a tripod stand. Wasn’t hard to get into too but I have a bit of difficulty zipping down the arm holes from inside. Might put a longer tether on it, I just don’t twist that well. It is well made and not too heavy to carry into the woods.Definitely warmer with it on. Looking forward to trying it out in real cold weather coming up.
The Arctic Shield insulated body suit has kept me warm in temps down to the mid 20s and I get cold very easily. I have tested the suit several times and am very happy with it. A little aggravating to get on if you’re in a climber but any insulted body suit will be.
I have only worn it once. It wasn't to bad putting on and taking off. Need to play with it to get the feel on how you want to wear it. Main zipper up or down, arms in or out. It was warm all zipped up, but we will see hhow it works when it gets colder and I wear it more.
I wore this opening weekend in Northern Wisconsin. The second day was -6 when I went into the woods. It's a little tricky getting your arms out of the zipper slots but that was too be expected. I put a couple hand warmers in a muff inside and I was more than warm enough with only light layers underneath. Under armor cold gear 4.0 a fleet sweatshirt and orange sweatshirt.
Just used it for 6 days in Manitoba Canada. It saved my hunt, 9 hour days in the stand. Difficult to put on in the stand with rubber boots. The hood flops over my head but didn’t use it much. Overall it did what I hoped it would. Would like one in snow camo! Hope you offer that in the future.ThanksGeorge
