I had the 8 ft one and caught a 74 lb Eagle Ray on it. It casts a mile as well. Me and my fishing buddy called it the money rod. I been using them since I was 12 years old and I’m over 30 years of age now. WHENEVER ANOTHER FISHING ROD HAS GIVEN ME TROUBLE BY SNAPPING AT THE TIP (I cast hard from shore) I ALWAYS GO BACK TO MY TRUSTY, RELIABLE, DURABLE, FLEXIBLE, BERKLEY BIG GAME POWER SERIES ROD… ALWAYS.\r\n\r\nThe Berkley Big Game Power Series rod… It truly is a fishing rod I have grown into and have trusted completely after a handful of other rods I have tried snapped and broke from use. The Berkley Big Game Power Series rod has earned the title by me called: “Ol Faithful.” \r\n\r\nBecause the rod has NEVER LET ME DOWN… when others have. It’s the rod I can always fall back on. The Berkley Big Game Power Series rod is my foundation rod that stands firm on solid ground. You are what started it all for me when I caught my 1st big fish on the Berkley Big Game Power Series rod when I was 12 years old… a 36 inch Tiger Muskie… right under the dock on the bottom with a lime green and black dotted spoon lure. Letting it fall and reeling it up. The Berkley Big Game rod handled that 36 inch Tiger Muskie with eas as it was THRASHING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE! The fiberglass rod construction absorbs all the flex and takes the load off of your body.\r\n\r\nThe Berkley Big Game Power Series rods are a GREAT choice! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! You WILL NOT find a better more durable fishing rod at this price. A TRUE VALUABLE product and purchase.\r\n\r\nOn my setup I am using the Berkley Big Game Power Series Spinning Rod, 8 foot, 2 piece collapsable, with a PENN Fierce III 5000 size spinning reel spooled up with 300 yards (more like 250 yards since I snagged and lost one of my other lures on the river) of 30lb Sufix 832 Advanced Superline with a very thin but strong… 24 inch Berkley Steelon Black Wire Leader rated at 30lb. Very thin and very stealth wire leader that is almost undetectable. You’ll see it in the photo with the yellow tape measure.\r\n\r\nThank You everyone! They provide Great value with their products at VERY affordable prices… and they are GREAT QUALITY AND THEY ARE DURABLE AND RELIABLE YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR! \r\n\r\nI have caught some good fish on the Berkley Big Game Power Series rods! I have 3 of them and 1 I have had for about 12 years and it is still durable and reliable and clean just like when I first purchased it. And it has caught me many fish! Big fish, medium size fish. The Berkley Big Game Power Series rods CANNOT BE BEAT FOR THE PRICE! DEPENDABLE. DURABLE. AND RELIABLE, YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR. SEASON AFTER SEASON AFTER SEASON.\r\n\r\nThe Berkley Big Game Power Series rod handles many sizes of fish with eas. I haven’t caught “The B1G One” yet to really test the rod and give it a challenge or worthy contender yet.\r\n\r\nI also like the Berkley Fusion Rod and Reel Combo Berkley makes. The 41 inch Spotted Musky in the photo was easily caught (but still a good powerful fight) and handled with the Berkley Fusion Rod.\r\n\r\nI really appreciate the fiberglass rod construction because the material is more flexible and durable for me and my style of fishing. I don’t have a boat so I have to “whip” my lures far out and the fiberglass rod DOESN’T SNAP AT THE TIP LIKE MY PAST 3 GRAPHITE RODS HAVE… ALL MY GRAPHITE RODS HAVE SNAPPED AT THE TIP FROM HARD CASTING. But the fiberglass rod construction absorbs that flex and just slingshots my lures far out, and the fiberglass rod material absorbs alot of the thrashes from larger gamefish.\r\n\r\nThe ONLY THING I WOULD SUGGEST BERKLEY is to make the Berkley Big Game Power Series rods have a Titanium Oxide insert at the tip like the Berkley Fusion rod so you don’t get minor line grooves / waves in the tip. My Berkley Big Game Power Series rod that I have had for about 12 years has very minor line grooves. I was running 65lb Power Pro braid on it though. But for $20 - $30 dollars I can always purchase more. I have 2 more New Berkley Big Game Power Series rods anyway, so two thumbs up! And after 12 years the rod is still reeling in fish and is STILL durable and reliable and strong just like day 1.\r\n\r\nBerkley makes Great value products that are reliable, durable and affordable. Berkley is Great!
