It wasn't staked out too tightly and I was being careful. I've had more tents than I can remember and have been camping/backpacking for more than 35 years and this is the worst tent I've had. To be fair, it is roomy for one person and is easy to set up, minus the poor construction. Maybe I just got a bad one. Big Agnes will repair it, it takes up to 8 weeks and my brand new tent that broke on the first use will be ready to use for a second time. There's no way I'll risk using it again. We had borrowed our friend's a bunch and decided it was time to pull the trigger. We are using it for mostly car camping, so we don't regret buying the Long to give us a little more space. I am 5'6\" and my partner is 6'0\". It fits us perfectly with room to store a few small bags. It is incredibly cozy; we sleep very well in this tent. We remain dry from the rain yet there still seems to be good ventilation, because it doesn't feel sticky inside when we wake up, even with the rain fly on. It's very light and packs down well enough. Easy to set up alone, takes no more than two or three minutes together. The stuff sack does feel a little flimsy, though conveniently lightweight. The stuff sack for my friend's Spur tore, so I'm being cautious with mine. If you're considering buying this tent, you won't regret it. These days I backpack in the Sierras with my dog, and at 6'2\" with a 60 lb black lab, this is the perfect size us at a super light weight. I'd previously been using the Big Agnes Slater 2+ (and before that heavier tests by other brands), and the interior space, two doors (and on the side, instead of on the end like the Slater), and headroom of the Copper Spur Long make this a huge improvement in comfort and usability! And Big Agnes has the best support. On the last night of our first trip with the tent last fall, my 2 year-old lab was sound asleep when a noise woke her up and, forgetting that she was in a tent, she tried to go charging outside through the wall. Surprisingly, she only tore a couple holes in the fabric with her paws, but the force of her impact knocked the tent on its side, pulling the stakes out of the ground and causing the seam tape to separate from the fabric in two corners of the tent body. Still, amazingly little damage for a 60 lb furry cannon ball going off inside at close range! After the trip, I contacted Big Agnes to get the tent body repaired, explaining that the damage was from a dog accident and offering to pay for the repair. A few weeks later, I received a brand new tent body at no charge! I couldn't be happier with the tent or customer service. Such a game changer for staying warm and dry and there is ample space for from bedtime stretching. \n- I adore all of the pockets, especially the roomy gear drying pocket at the foot end and the small earplug & glasses sized pockets at the head.\n- Pleased with the weight. It feels like the right balance between carry weight and durability. \n- Easy to set up alone. \n\nCons: \n- I purchased primarily for solo use, but hoped to also accommodate my partner when he joins. Unfortunately, its not quite wide enough for both me and my partner - just a little too narrow for our preferred backcountry sleeping pads. Since I was looking for something just for myself, I wish there was an option that split the difference between the 1-person and 2-person tent widths. \n- the stakes could use a little more positive gripping action at the head. In other words, with a little pulling or an improper angle, the lines can pop right out of the groove.\n- so bright! I suppose this is a tradeoff for lightweight, but with such a thin, light-colored fly, a face mask is a must for high latitude summer camping. I would have preferred a darker fly color.\n- don't love the top-loading stuff sack. Fold and roll your tent a different way each time to avoid permanent creases. Store in a cool, dry place. Never leave your tent in hot temperatures (such as a car trunk or attic space) for long periods of time, as it will damage the material coatings. Storing your tent damp can result in mildew growth, which may cause your tent to smell, leak, or delaminate. Tent and Footprint Cleaning and Care Instructions:

Storage:

Always make sure your tent is dry and free of debris before storing. Fold and roll your tent a different way each time to avoid permanent creases. Store in a cool, dry place. Never leave your tent in hot temperatures (such as a car trunk or attic space) for long periods of time, as it will damage the material coatings. Storing your tent damp can result in mildew growth, which may cause your tent to smell, leak, or delaminate. Mildew damage is not covered under warranty.

Cleaning:

For light cleaning, sponge the product with warm water (not hot).

For more thorough cleaning you will need:
-Wash basin (or bath tub)-Warm water (not hot)
-Waterproof Gear Cleaner (we recommend products like Nikwax Tech Wash)
-Sponge

1. Submerge your gear in warm, clean water. Gently agitate with hands. Empty dirty water. Repeat until most of the excess dirt/grime is removed and water is mostly clear.
2. Apply waterproof gear specific wash and gently work into fabric with sponge.
3. Rinse gear thoroughly.
4. Hang it up to dry.
5. Triple check that your gear is completely dry before storage or use.

*Do not dry clean or machine-wash. Detergents and dry cleaning solvents will damage the fabric and ruin waterproofing.
*Never use hot water, bleach, liquid detergents, or dishwashing liquids.
*Allow to dry COMPLETELY before storage or use.
*Avoid prolonged direct sunlight as UV exposure can compromise waterproofing.

Seam Sealing:

Big Agnes tents are seam sealed as part of our manufacturing process! This seam tape alone is durable enough to prevent water leakage. Any seams that have been taped do not need to be seam sealed with a liquid sealer unless you want extra protection. Make sure the seam-sealer is completely dry before re-packing your tent. Damage caused by misapplication may void warranty.
