Compress your sleeping bag down to a third of its size
I really love the concept of this girdle and bought them with a couple of BA bags to use with the included stuff sacks since they don't come with compression bags. It works and is lightweight and well designed, but regardless of design the one-size-fits-most nature of the girdle makes it impossible for it to work as well as an actual compression bag. Parts of the stuff sack inevitably poke out through the girdle when compressing leaving the finished product lumpy and easy to snag when packing, plus it's an extra piece that's easy to misplace when not in use. I'm really not sure why BA doesn't just design a nice lightweight compression bag and include it with their bags like most brands do, with their track record I'm sure theirs would be better than most. I don't really see the need to reinvent the wheel here. I don't want to sound too negative, this product is well built and does the job, so if the concept appeals to you go ahead and buy it.
works well on your bag, but not your emotional baggage
Got this in hopes to make our Dream Island 15 thermolite more packable. This bag uses an XXXL stuff sack and I selected the L/XL girdle. It just makes it around the sack and does the job. I'm sure it was designed for smaller jobs, but this actually works pretty well and will get used for other bags too. The older dream Island only compresses to a little over half, but that's way better than what it was and will leave room for all of our other polyester fantasies.
