It is very comfortable and weatherproof. The large pole provides plenty of airspace above the user's face, reducing any claustrophobic feeling and allowing airflow as needed when unzipping the shell zipper. I purchased a few more dirt dagger stakes since the bivy only comes with 3 total, which is probably the bare minimum required to stake it out. I've only used this once but I love it. I love how it zips down equally on both sides so I can get in it easily and then sit up and zip it up around me. I also love the vent, it's just a great idea and works very well. I also love being able to tension the foot end and effectively pull the fly tight as it's perfectly tensioned from both ends. It was a cold night with minimal wind, but I woke the next morning to zero condensation, it was absolutely bone dry top to bottom! I was honestly expecting to wake up soaked, but the bivy proved its worth. Not a single drop made it inside. The waterproofing and taped seams held up beautifully. The hooped design helped keep the fabric off my face and prevented pooling, which made a huge difference in comfort. For a minimalist shelter, this thing handled extreme conditions like a champ.\n\nComfort in Cooler Temps\nThe second night brought clear skies but a dip in temperature—the low 40s, which can be a bit brisk if you're packing light. I paired the bivy with a light sleeping bag, expecting to have to tough it out a bit, but to my surprise, I stayed perfectly warm and comfortable all night. The product we got did not contain 3 wires. It contained only 1 round wire and the bivy had to be attached to the ground in multiple points for the head area to stand up upright. Also there is NO mesh under the main cover - so you CAN'T roll this back. Don't get the same mistake we made! This is VERY disappointing. In out expeditions we often have to camp on hard ground where we cannot stake out. We were expecting the REAL 3-wire product as per the videos. We will return our 2 tents and all the accessory items purchased.
