T&E the tent over the New Year's @ Padre Island National Seashore, not a significant length of time. My wife & I (2-people) began the Appalachian Trial April 15, with the tent in tow. One flap of the tent fly failed (both zipper sliders came off completely in the middle of the night) over the Memorial Day weekend. The next day I managed to get just one slider on to close, from the elements, the fly zipper; yet, requiring Gorilla Tape on both ends to keep it from splitting and the zipper wouldn't reopen for infill/exfill. On Memorial Day I submitted an electronic case # with the hopes for a positive solution for the remaining 1,500 + miles remaining on the AT. I called a day after to explain my predicament with it ending with a \"We'll get back to you as soon as we can\". Then I received the following email on May 30, reader's own discretion:\n\nThank you for reaching out, and I am sorry about the delay here. \n\nUnfortunately it looks like we do not have any used or new parts available for your Tiger Wall 3 Platinum available, but please see a couple of options below: \n\n1. We have a Tiger Wall 3 Carbon, which we can break into parts to sell you the rainfly as a replacement. Please note that the Tiger Wall Carbon is a more expensive tent, and payment would be required for this replacement rainfly.\n2. If you are near a town, you may be able to find a local seamstress who can help get that zipper slider replaced and get the zipper working again. \n3. If you cannot find a seamstress, there is a company called FixNZip, which offers a temporary fix (screw-on zipper sliders) which will get your rainfly working again. Once you are finished with your thru-hike, reach back out and we can get your tent into our warehouse to be professionally repaired. \n\nGood bye Big Agnes, hello Zpacks! The DNF fly developed multiple small holes near the ridge line. \nSent the tent back to BA, they refused to fix it claiming UV damage. \nWell... I wanted something super light, but still wanted to benefits of a double walled \"normal\" tent rather than an UL shelter. This really is the best of both worlds! I've backpacked with this through Southern Turkey, all over Montana, and in the Sierras. It has held up to torrential downpours and I have always stayed cozy and dry inside! \n\nThis should absolutely be sold with the ground cover (even if the overall price is more) because it really isn't an effective tent without it. The fabric is super fragile and need to be protected, so I'm not sure why buying it without the ground sheet is even an option! The fly is poorly designed as does not vent properly and collects condensation, which then drips inside the tent when you open the fly door. The top of the door is directly over the tent body, which could be changed by adding a little more material for a longer cross pole.
